Chevron
This gas station is built on Bay Fill, and if conventional construction techniques were used, the building
and concrete slabs will sink and shift. The Chevron Engineer specified two products; LWF as well as a
Lightweight Cinder Class II base that weighs much less than traditional Class II base. This technique
allowed a lighter weight on top of the mud, with no reduction in quality. The LW Cinder base was
compacted to 95% minimum, and was placed on top of the LW fill that was simply consolidated in place.
